​M. Scott Alprin, Esq.
Founder, President
M. Scott Alprin is the president of Alprin Law Offices, P.C. He is a native of Washington, D.C. and received his Juris Doctor from American University (in Washington, D.C.) Washington College of Law in 2000. He also holds Master of Arts degrees in International Relations from both American University and Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. 

Mr. Alprin has extensive experience in the field of intellectual property and is a member of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association and the International Trademark Association. In addition to managing Alprin Law, Mr. Alprin speaks on U.S. trademark law. He has given lectures in Japanese in Tokyo and Nagoya to members of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA) and lectured in Japanese to students at the Osaka Kougyo Daigaku on the subject of trademark prosecution in the United States.  Mr. Alprin has given numerous presentations on the latest developments in U.S. trademark law at clients’ offices throughout Japan.

Scott lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and three children. His hobbies include studying kanji, attempting to restart his marathon “career,” and recounting his glory days as a “star” ice hockey player for the Chunichi Wings of Nagoya, Japan.

William J. Morris III, Esq.
Of Counsel​
A legal veteran with over seventeen years of experience in trademark, trade dress, copyright, Internet, and entertainment law, Mr. Morris has represented a diverse group of clients ranging from multi-billion dollar global corporations, domestic corporations, internationally based corporations, Internet based businesses, start ups, entrepreneurs, and entertainers. He received a Bachelors of Arts in History from Wake Forest University (1997), a Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School (2000), and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Intellectual Property, Commerce, and Technology Law from the internationally renowned Franklin Pierce Law Center (2005), where he finished #1 in his class with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Prior to joining Alprin Law, Mr. Morris was President and Counsel for Hershey Chocolate and Confectionary Corporation, where he managed a global portfolio of over 10,000 trademarks. He also served as Global Trademark Counsel for Under Armour, Inc., where he built the second largest family of marks in the USA and assisted the corporation in its global expansion. In addition to working with Alprin Law, Mr. Morris also serves as General Counsel to Felt LLC (www.feltapp.com), where he assists the start up success featured on the show Shark Tank with its legal matters.

Mr. Morris is active in the trademark community, frequently speaking at events sponsored by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, International Trademark Association (where he serves on the Famous and Well Known Marks Committee), Intellectual Property Organization, Rocky Mountain IP Institute, Inn of Court, and numerous law schools.

In his spare time, Mr. Morris enjoys camping, skiing, playing and watching hockey, coaching youth sports, writing songs on the guitar and piano, and spending quality time with his wife, son, dogs, cats, chickens, and rabbits.

​Anneliesa Alprin, MA
Director of Finance and Operations

Anneliesa Alprin serves as the firm’s director of finance and operations.  She manages the accounting department, provides all HR functions, and directs the marketing and communications efforts for the growing firm. In 2006, Anneliesa earned a Masters in Leadership from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in Washington, D.C.  

Previously, she has worked for some of D.C.’s most venerable “brands” including the Library of Congress, Georgetown University, National Geographic, and the White House. With a passion for the arts and culture, she serves as the Executive Director of the National Trust for the Humanities.

​In addition to being work partners, Scott and Anneliesa are life partners, often working into the “ushi mitsu doki” hour of the night together. She enjoys cooking up new dishes with vegetables from their little garden, exploring playgrounds with their kids, and planning her family's next adventure.

​Becky Alprin, MFA
Director of Docketing

Becky Alprin joined Alprin Law Offices, P.C. in the spring of 2012 and serves as an administrative assistant and docket manager – providing administrative support, preparing reports, docketing deadlines, and maintaining an efficient flow of assignments. She shares Mr. Alprin’s dedication to providing the highest level of care and quality to every client.  This may be a family trait, as Becky is Mr. Alprin’s younger sister.

When not working for the firm, Becky is an artist who has exhibited her work throughout the United States and in Madrid, Spain. She lives with her husband in Cleveland, Ohio.
